Congratulations WHS Academic Team! Regional Runner-Up!

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, members of the Walters High School Academic Team traveled to Mangum, OK to the OSSAA Regional Academic Tournament where they competed against Mangum, Cordell, Hobart, Minco, Boone-Apache, Frederick, Merritt, and Sayre. Mangum won, but Walters took the Runner Up spot which qualified them to move on to the Area Tournament which will be held January 18, 2020. Members pictured are Josh Farris, Blaise Morgan, Josh Cannon, Ashlynne Self, Sutherlin Tillery, Chloe Stores, Mrs. Pattie Calfy (Coach), Zanden Dyke, and Makenna Fisher. Members not pictured are Zac Wagner and Desi Brown.

It's going to be a busy week before Thanksgiving!

  • The Elementary Fundraiser is available for pickup Monday, Oct. 18 from 2:30-5:30 in the cafeteria.
  • WHS Varsity Choir Cheesecake Fundraiser money is due Monday, Oct. 18
  • Good Luck to our JH Vocal music students as they audition for the final round of All State, Tuesday, Nov. 19 they are Noah Collins, Lauren Day, Axel Mallow, Sam Morgan, Hadlee Smith & Emma Youngblood.
  • Picture Retake/makeup day is Wednesday, Nov. 20.
  • This is the final week for the Pack The Pantry competition between the HS and MS, items are due by Friday, Nov. 22. There will be prizes awarded.
  • HS basketball kicks off this week with the season opener at Geronimo, Friday, Oct 22.
  • Our varsity Choir will sing in the community Thanksgiving program Sunday, Nov. 24 at 6:00pm at the First Baptist Church. The public is invited to attend.
  • Thanksgiving Break is Nov. 25-29, classes will resume Monday, Dec. 2.
  • Senior Parents - your seniors baby pictures are due December 6, a letter with all the specifics was mailed in September. You can call the office if you have questions.

Congratulations to Blue Devil Pride members who made SWOBDA Honor Band: Josh C. ... 1st Chair HS Symphonic Band French Horn AND 6th Chair HS Symphonic Band Trumpet, Breigh Hanks 6th Chair HS Concert Band Trombone, Sutherlin Tillery 6th Chair JH Concert Band Trombone.

Josh Cannon and Breigh Hanks also made the first round of OKMEA All State and will proceed to the final round in December.

MS & HS are having a “Pack The Pantry” competition between the buildings and house/homerooms from now until Nov. 23, with a prize being awarded to the winner. We welcome any donations to our food pantry.
