Proactive Security Solutions has completed the installation of security window laminate on the glass windows and doors throughout our school. This important safety enhancement was made possible through the School Security Grant funded by our state legislature.
We are grateful to the legislature for investing in the safety and security of our schools. Their support helps us continue providing a safer learning and working environment for our students, staff, and visitors. Thank you for helping make our district a safer place for everyone!
We are looking forward to another great year!

His dad always said, “Leave things better than you found them." Since being back at Walters Coach Griffin has wanted a rubber floor installed to improve the weight room and make it safer. Thanks to the W Club and Coach Javin Ricketts, today that happened. Coach Ricketts worked tirelessly to find a rubber floor we could afford and he installed it. A huge THANK YOU to The W Club for raising the money to make improvements and Coach Ricketts for his work! Code Blue!

Three Walters Public School students recently earned the opportunity to compete at Oklahoma 4-H State Record Book Interview Day in Stillwater.
Each year, 4-H members from across Oklahoma submit record books documenting their project work, leadership experiences, community service, and personal growth. After an extensive review process, only the top three record books in each project area are selected to advance to the state interview competition.
Walters students Claire Nease, Sunshine Sutterfield, and Rowdy Burns were among those elite finalists and traveled to Oklahoma State University to interview before a panel of judges.
Claire Nease, WHS Senior, qualified to interview in the Advanced Citizenship and Advanced Achievement project areas, showcasing her dedication to leadership, service, and personal development through her years in 4-H.
Sunshine Sutterfield, recent 2026 WHS graduate, interviewed for Hall of Fame, Citizenship, and Achievement. The Hall of Fame recognition is one of Oklahoma 4-H’s highest honors and reflects years of outstanding leadership, service, and involvement at the local, district, and state levels.
Rowdy Burns, WHS Freshman, interviewed in the Swine and Agriculture project areas, highlighting his extensive livestock knowledge, hands-on experience in the swine industry, and commitment to agricultural education and advocacy.
Qualifying for State Record Book Interview Day is a remarkable accomplishment and represents countless hours of work, record keeping, leadership activities, community service, and project involvement. Walters Public Schools is proud of Claire, Sunshine, and Rowdy for representing both their school and community at the state level and wishes them the best as final results are announced.
