Walters Public Schools Weather Announcement
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Due to hazardous road and sidewalk conditions, Walters Public Schools will transition to Virtual Education on Monday, January 26, 2026. In addition students will not attend Red River Technology Center and JH Basketball games on Monday are cancelled.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Current conditions make travel unsafe, and this decision was made with the well-being of our school community in mind.
Please continue to check the Walters Public Schools website and our official social media pages for any future updates or announcements regarding school operations.

Walters Public Schools Announcement
Due to the potential for severe weather and hazardous road conditions, Walters Public Schools will utilize Virtual Education tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2026.
Career Tech students will NOT attend Red River Career Tech in the morning.
In addition, all Comanche County Basketball Tournament games scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed until next Wednesday. An updated schedule will be posted as soon as possible.
Forecasts indicate the storm could arrive in our area as early as 11:00 AM. While we understand that an early release can be a burden for families, we want to avoid that situation if at all possible. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we will always err on the side of caution.
Please note that changes to next week’s schedule may occur as a result of this storm.

WHS FFA & 4H - Due to the high probability of severe weather beginning Friday, the FFA Pig Jackpot scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled. The safety and well-being of our students, participants, and all attendees remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

WHS Basketball - Comanche County Tournament *UPDATED* Brackets
Due to the possible impending weather forecasted for the coming weekend, the schedule for the CCT has been adjusted.
**Friday's games have been moved to Thursday, meaning Girls and Boys will both play on Thursday.
**Saturday's games have been moved to Friday. If games are unable to be played on Friday, finals will be moved to Wednesday, January 28.
The attached brackets have been updated.

WPS has been notified that the main power to our buildings will be shut down to repair our electrical issue. The buildings will not have phone or Internet during this time. We will NOT be dismissing school early. Thank you for your patience during this time.
