Dear Parents, Students, and Staff:
Throughout the day we have been in contact with weather services and transportation departments for the state. Though there is always a degree of uncertainty, the current weather forecast predicts a good chance of freezing rain starting around 8:00AM tomorrow (Tuesday) and continuing off and on throughout the school day. The amount of freezing rain projected to fall has the potential to create hazardous conditions in our district. In addition, Wednesday is calling for potentially dangerous temperatures as well, with wind chills as low as -15 degrees.
Knowing the difficulty that an early release causes for parents and the potential for poor road conditions and the dangerous temperatures, Walters Public Schools will move to virtual education Tuesday, February 18 and Wednesday, February 19. We place the safety of our students and staff first and will always err on the side of caution.
Please continue to monitor the Walters Blue Devil app, school website and Facebook page for updates. Stay safe and warm!
