Saturday, February 21, 2026 , some of our Band students traveled to Elgin HS for District Solo/Ensemble competition.

The Brass Bros: our Low Brass Trio (Hunter Curbello, Corbyn Stephens, and Jaxon Kelley) scored a Superior rating and will be advancing to State!

The Trominet Duet: our Clarinet and Trombone duet (Lezlie Belcher and Hunter Curbello) also scored a Superior and will be advancing to State!

The following soloists scored a Superior Rating and will be advancing to State:
Lezlie Belcher: Clarinet
Ethan Miller: French Horn
Logan Curbello: Trombone and Trumpet

Gracelynn Williams scored a Good rating on her Marimba Solo
Kaitlyn Cast scored an Excellent rating on her French Horn Solo
Amilea Bustos scored and Excellent rating on her Clarinet Solo
Abigail Eddy scored a Superior rating on her Flute Solo
Samuel Matt scored a Superior rating on his Clarinet Solo

WHS Basketball District Playoffs -- Walters will host Frederick -- Thursday, February 19 **Tickets - $10 cash at the gate or $8.35 online at https://gofan.co/app/school/OSSAA (search Walters) **Only OSSAA Playoff Passes accepted (everyone else must have a ticket) **Game times - Girls 6:00 & Boys 7:30 As a reminder this is an OSSAA playoff game. Per OSSAA regulations -- NO BANDS OF ANY SIZE OR NATURE, NO NOISE MAKERS, NO CONFETTI, NO BANNERS, EMBLEMS, OR PLACARDS, NO SIGN, NO THUNDERSTICKS, BALLOONS, LASER LIGHTS, OR OTHER ITEMS THAT MAY BE A DISTRACTION TO THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE GAME OR TO THE OTHER FANS ARE NOT ALLOWED. WHS Stu-Co & NHS students joined the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils in volunteering at the Regional Food Bank in OKC, yesterday. This was part of the Thunder Days of Service and the day ended in the Paycom Center cheering on the OKC Thunder!

Any WHS young lady in the Sophomore, Junior or Senior classes wishing to be in the 2026 Miss Walters Pageant will need to sign up at Mrs. Dedmon's room by Thursday, February 26. The pageant is scheduled for April 11, 2026.
